Sports Psychology
At Copious Life, we believe that psychological and mental factors play a role in sports and fitness performance. Whether at the club, high school, college, or professional level, performance on the “field” can affect performance off the “field” and performance off the “field” can affect performance on the “field”. We offer counseling services to help you achieve your goals, but we also offer a trained mental skills coach who will develop an individualized program designed especially for your performance enhancement. Each session will be geared toward attaining goals that are set by you.
We will help you to:
- Improve decision-making
- Reduce anxiety
- Increase focus
- Quickly recover from disappointments and strategic errors
- Decrease stress before, during, and after competition
- Develop effective goal setting strategies
Copious Life recognizes that successful athletes have the following things in common and that they do not come by chance:
Motivation: Persistentence through stressful times and tasks
Goal Setting and Achieving: This allows for a specific detailed plan that assesses their performance. These goals are realistic, action-oriented, measurable, and time sensitive.
Emotional Control: Able to regulate their optimal state of emotional arousal prior to and during competition.
Focus: The ability to attend to task specific stimuli while resisting distractions. Playing in the moment without regard to the past or anticipated events.
